Dr. Silvia Riggioni Víquez

I hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from the University of Costa Rica. I completed my initial postgraduate studies, specializing in Dermatology at the University of Costa Rica's Postgraduate Studies System, and subsequently, abroad, specializing in Clinical Allergology. I completed my allergy studies at the Allergy Section of the Pulmonology and Allergology Service at the Hospital Universitari Clínic of Barcelona and my Master of Science (MSc) in Allergology at Imperial College London, based at St Mary's Hospital in London.
During my training abroad, I participated in research studies in the area of ​​respiratory allergies, with an emphasis on house dust mite allergies. I also participated in multicenter studies of chronic urticaria (AWARE study) and severe atopic dermatitis (Sanofi-Dupixent® European Database).
I have participated in the organization and evaluation of specialized clinics for patients with combined allergic and dermatological conditions, with special emphasis on chronic urticaria, angioedema, severe atopic dermatitis, severe drug reactions and drug desensitization therapy (antibiotics, chemotherapeutics and biologicals).
I dedicate my current clinical practice to the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of skin diseases and allergic conditions (rhinitis, asthma, food, insects, animals), hoping to have a positive impact on the quality of life and health of those who suffer from these conditions.
