Dr. Eugenie Arguedas Gourzong

I’ve always been interested in understanding the reasons behind things, and the greatest enigma is discovering what’s happening to patients each day and being able to respond to their needs promptly and effectively. I decided to become a geriatrician because of my deep connection with the elderly population, and later I became a dermatologist after witnessing the significant need for care, diagnosis, and management of skin conditions in this population, where allergies and skin cancer are so prevalent, while also considering the entire biopsychosocial environment surrounding them. Being able to address skin conditions holistically through the diverse perspectives of both specialties allows me to provide clinical and surgical solutions for skin diseases in both older adults and younger adults, which has been incredibly rewarding. However, the greatest reward is the gratitude and affection of the people I treat after managing their illness.
